1. General Information

These terms of service govern the use of services provided by the Animal Shelters Digital Mapping and Adoption Program ("KKTC Shelter", "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to these terms.

2. Service Description

The Platform provides the following services:

  • Digital mapping of animal shelters across Northern Cyprus
  • Listing of shelter animals and profile pages
  • Online adoption application form
  • Contact form for shelter communication
  • Blog and informational content

3. User Obligations

Platform users agree to the following rules:

  • Provide accurate and complete information in adoption applications
  • Not use the Platform for illegal or harmful purposes
  • Not submit forms using spam, bots, or automated tools
  • Not collect or use other users' personal data without permission
  • Avoid actions that could compromise Platform security

4. Adoption Process

4.1. Adoption applications made through the Platform are evaluated by the relevant shelter. The Platform is not directly involved in the acceptance or rejection of applications.

4.2. The application process is managed by the shelter and is subject to the shelter's own rules.

4.3. The Platform does not guarantee the health condition or behavior of adopted animals. This responsibility belongs to the relevant shelter.

4.4. Submitting an adoption application does not create a right to adoption. The shelter reserves the right to reject any application.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All content on the Platform (design, texts, images, logos, software code) belongs to KKTC Shelter or the relevant shelters and is protected by copyright laws. Unauthorized copying, reproduction, or distribution of content is prohibited.

Animal photographs uploaded by shelters are the property of the respective shelter.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • The Platform does not guarantee the accuracy of information provided by shelters.
  • The Platform is not responsible for access issues caused by technical failures, maintenance, or third-party service interruptions.
  • The Platform cannot be held responsible for disputes arising from communication or adoption processes between users and shelters.
  • The Platform is not responsible for links directing users to third-party websites.

7. Personal Data Protection

For detailed information about the collection, processing, and protection of your personal data, please review our Privacy Policy. The Platform complies with data protection principles under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

8. Shelter Accounts

Accounts created for shelter managers and staff are subject to the following rules:

  • Account information must be kept confidential and not shared with third parties
  • The shelter is responsible for all content uploaded through the account
  • Sharing false or misleading information may result in account suspension
  • Platform management reserves the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate rules

9. Service Changes

KKTC Shelter reserves the right to change the features, design, and functionality of the Platform without prior notice. Significant changes will be announced through the Platform.

10. Termination

KKTC Shelter reserves the right to restrict or terminate access to the Platform for users who violate these terms of service without prior notice.

11. Governing Law

These terms of service are governed by the laws of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The courts of TRNC have jurisdiction over disputes.
